Old Town Festival of Speed & Style Presents $3,000 to USO of Metropolitan Washington – Baltimore
Alexandria, VA – July 24, 2020 – In line with its deep commitment to the community, the organizers of the Old Town Festival of Speed & Style presented the USO Metro Washington-Baltimore with a special donation to assist during these challenging times.
With a handful of classic cars providing an elegant backdrop at the Alexandria National Cemetery, members of the Organizing Committee of The Old Town Festival of Speed & Style presented Meghan Butler, Corporate Development Director for USO-Metro, with a $3,000 check to help support the USO’s mission.
Cars ranging from a Morgan, MG, Austin Healey, and BMW, along with the USO Ford Escape, were on display with their owners – spaced at a safe distance, for the check presentation.
The mission of the USO is to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation. The USO-Metro is one of two charities of choice for The Second Annual Old Town Festival of Speed & Style, presented by Burke & Herbert Bank.
The Old Town Festival of Speed & Style is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization chartered to donate funds to charitable organizations – both local and national. It hosts a spectacular single-day, high-sensory event on the unique lower blocks of King Street in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia every year.
Originally scheduled to take place last month, the second annual Festival is now scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 6 – over the Labor Day weekend. Event organizers are working closely with the City and State health officials on implementing safe distance protocols to ensure that the Festival fun while protecting attendees and participants.
The Second Annual Old Town Festival of Speed & Style, presented by Burke & Herbert Bank, will feature 100 rare and exotic supercars and motorcycles from around the world for viewing enjoyment. The Festival celebrates the heart and spirit of the community and highlights the elegance and style of Old Town.
The Festival is free to spectators and open to all.
